PURPOSE OF JOB
Perform a wide variety of highly skilled maintenance activities to repair and maintain Sharp's converting, printing, and extrusion equipment. This role emphasizes troubleshooting and resolving electrical and electronic issues, repairing and replacing faulty components, installing new machinery and equipment, programming PLCs, maintaining electrical systems, and managing maintenance parts and inventory to support operational efficiency and uptime.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive work assignments from the Supervisor, Lead Person, or scheduling systems. Perform preventive maintenance on all production and facility equipment. Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs related to reactive maintenance of equipment, buildings, and grounds. Plan and execute assigned tasks and responsibilities associated with special projects, ensuring timelines are consistently met. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all generated data and maintenance records. Demonstrate professional communication, teamwork, and workplace conduct. Complete and verify job documentation to support troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis. Source parts, equipment, and materials, and obtain pricing information for maintenance-related purchases. Maintain adequate spare parts inventory levels to support production uptime and minimize downtime. Perform a wide range of tool, die, and fixture repair and fabrication work. Assist with the training and cross-training of team members. Support and promote departmental organization and continuous improvement initiatives in accordance with 5S principles. Provide assistance to other departments and work areas as needed. Perform all job responsibilities in a safe manner while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety. Promptly report accidents, injuries, unsafe practices, and hazardous conditions to the appropriate supervisor.
COMPETENCIES
Strong verbal, written and communications skills. Demonstrates ability to maintain positive and professional attitude.
Strong computer skills including:
Excel and SAP, preferred. Basic blueprint reading skills/ability to do this job. Proficiency in using basic gauges and measuring instruments. Demonstrate good mechanical skills and use of associated tooling. Understanding of machine control systems, and electrical schematics Lean experience preferred. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Minimum high school diploma or GED preferred. A minimum of 2 years of experience within a manufacturing environment.
