Job Summary Performs routine and preventative maintenance, repairs, and minor installations across school district buildings, grounds, and equipment. Ensures a safe, functional, and well-maintained learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities General Repairs & Maintenance:

Inspect, repair, and maintain building structures, including doors, locks, windows, drywall, painting, and basic carpentry.

HVAC & Mechanical:

Perform regular filter changes, clean coils, monitor thermostats, and perform basic troubleshooting on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units.

Plumbing & Electrical:

Repair leaks, clear drain clogs, replace faucets and toilets, swap light fixtures, replace ballasts/LED drivers, and reset breakers safely.

Grounds & Exterior:

Assist with seasonal upkeep, including ground clearing, minor lawn maintenance, exterior lighting checks, and snow/ice removal during winter months.

Safety & Compliance:

Conduct routine safety inspections, test fire extinguishers and emergency exit lighting, and ensure adherence to local safety codes and district regulations.

Work Order Management:

Track, prioritize, and complete daily maintenance work orders using the district's automated facility management system.

Event Support:

Assist with the setup, breakdown, and cleanup for school board meetings, athletic events, assemblies, and community activities.

Qualifications & Requirements Education:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience:

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in general building maintenance, trade work, or facilities management.

Certifications:

Valid driver's license (required). EPA Universal or Trade Certifications (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing) are a plus.

Clearances:

Must pass mandatory state and federal criminal background checks and drug screening prior to employment. Knowledge, Skills, and Physical Demands Basic working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Ability to operate hand and power tools safely. Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, bend, reach, and stand or walk for extended periods. Strong communication skills to interact professionally with school administrators, teachers, and students.

Pay:

From $21.44 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
