As per Current Support Salary Schedule PURPOSE To perform preventative maintenance on all district vehicles to ensure the safe reliable operation of the district fleet.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to perform basic preventative maintenance as scheduled by the Fleet Coordinator
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools and automotive shop equipment
- Ability to operate District vehicles and equipment
- Maintain and interpret maintenance and mileage logs
- Knowledge of basic computer keyboarding and software application skills
JOB REQUIREMENT
High School Diploma or equivalent Commercial Driver's License - District will train Demonstrate experience in preventative automotive maintenance and repair; 1 years or as required by coordinators CPR and 1 st aid certification Pass drug and alcohol testingESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform preventative maintenance of all district vehicles and equipment
- Fuel fleet cars at the start and end of each business day
- Operate tools and equipment in garage
- Operate vehicles and equipment
- Create and maintain preventative maintenance work orders using computer software
- Assist handling of heavy objects
- Coordinate with district staff for the scheduling of vehicles and equipment
- Report maintenance problems to mechanics
- Cross train with garage detailer
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Assist mechanics with repair of vehicles and equipment as needed
- Maintain garage cleanliness
- Remove snow as needed
- Participate in district staff development programs
- Cross train with garage detailer
- Perform duties as assigned by coordinator(s)
- Maintain cleanliness of district vehicles
- Assist in inventory audits (cycle counts)
WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to heat, cold, and humidity—all weather extremes Frequent moderate noise level, occasional high noise level Ability to handle moderate to heavy objects Requires moderate physical exertion and mobility Ability to handle flammable materials Exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, mechanical and electrical hazardsEVALUATIONS
An annual evaluation will be conducted prior to June 1st by the supervisor designee and placed on file with the Human Resources Office. Additional evaluations may be given at the prerogative of the supervisor designee.Revised:
