Position Summary:
The Surface Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for all repairs and services associated with the heavy industrial mining equipment. Successful candidate must be able to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy industrial mining equipment
- Plate and pipe arc welding
- Provide constant evaluation of equipment condition and acceptable standards for mechanical maintenance
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems
- Ensure compliance with relevant company health & safety policies and procedures, as well as government regulations
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Associate degree or approved certification in mechanical maintenance or welding discipline from an accredited technical college or university OR journeyman license in the ironworks, millwrights or mechanic disciplines
- 2.5 years of experience in maintenance for a continuous manufacturing, chemical processing, or mining industry
- Mechanical knowledge and ability as demonstrated through written and practical testing
