This position will focus on the installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting of low-voltage communication and structured cabling systems on commercial projects throughout the Anchorage area. We are looking for someone who takes pride in clean, organized installations, works well as part of a construction team, and can be trusted to complete work safely and professionally. Responsibilities Install Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic, and other low-voltage cabling systems Install cable pathways, J-hooks, supports, sleeves, racks, cabinets, and associated equipment Terminate data jacks, patch panels, keystone connectors, and other communication devices Perform fiber termination and installation when required Test, label, document, and certify installed cabling Read construction drawings, specifications, and cabling schedules Maintain proper cable routing, bend radius, separation, support, and workmanship standards Troubleshoot cabling and connectivity issues Coordinate work with electricians, general contractors, IT personnel, and other trades Maintain an organized and professional work area Follow OSHA requirements, project safety rules, and company procedures Complete installations in accordance with applicable NEC requirements, manufacturer instructions, and industry standards Qualifications Preferred experience: Previous structured cabling, telecommunications, electrical, or low-voltage installation experience Experience terminating Cat6/Cat6A cabling Familiarity with Fluke or similar cable testing equipment Experience with fiber optic cabling is a plus Familiarity with
BICSI/TIA
structured cabling practices is a plus Ability to read construction drawings and specifications Experience working on active commercial construction sites We will consider applicants with strong electrical or construction backgrounds who are interested in developing their structured cabling skills. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred. Compensation Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications. Benefits and additional compensation opportunities are available based on position and eligibility.
Pay:
$26.00 - $36.80 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
