1 Low Voltage Technician - Entry Level Crain Automotive Little Rock, AR 72223 Crain Automotive is looking for a motivated Entry-Level Low Voltage Technician to join our growing IT and Technology Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with technology, working with their hands, and learning new skills. Previous professional low-voltage experience is not required. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a desire to learn a technical trade. You will work alongside an experienced Low Voltage Technician and our IT team, learning how to install, maintain, and troubleshoot the technology systems used throughout our dealership locations. What You'll Learn and Do Assist with installation and termination of Cat5e/Cat6 network cabling Learn basic fiber-optic cabling installation and testing Install and assist with troubleshooting surveillance cameras Assist with access control, electronic door systems, intercoms, and related equipment Install wireless access points and other network equipment Help install network racks, patch panels, switches, and related hardware Route and secure cabling through ceilings, walls, conduits, and other pathways Learn proper cable termination, labeling, testing, and documentation techniques Assist with troubleshooting network connectivity and low-voltage equipment Learn to use cable testers, toner/probe tools, punch-down tools, crimpers, and other specialized equipment Read basic floor plans, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas Assist with equipment inventory and project documentation Travel to Crain Automotive locations throughout Arkansas as needed Work alongside experienced technicians and IT professionals on dealership technology projects Perform other duties as assigned What We're Looking For We don't expect you to already know everything. We're looking for someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable with technology, and eager to learn.
Ideal candidates will have:
Basic knowledge or interest in computers, networking, electronics, construction, or low-voltage systems Experience using basic hand and power tools Ability and willingness to learn new technologies Strong problem-solving skills Attention to detail and pride in doing clean, professional work Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team Ability to work independently as skills and experience develop Good communication and customer service skills Ability to safely work from ladders and lifts Ability to work in ceilings, equipment rooms, and other installation environments Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Experience with structured cabling, cameras, access control, networking, electronics, construction, automotive electronics, home automation, or similar work is a plus, but not required.
