Job Overview This is a part time job. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cable Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications and computer networking, with hands-on experience in cabling and low voltage systems. As a Cable Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various cable systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for our clients. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair telecommunication cabling systems including Ethernet and low voltage wiring. Conduct field service visits to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to cable installations. Utilize tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to test and troubleshoot cable performance. Configure and set up Cisco routers as part of network installations. Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide exceptional service as a technician. Document all work performed, including installation details, service calls, and customer interactions. Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations during all installations and repairs. Requirements Proven experience in field service or as a service technician in the telecommunications industry. Strong knowledge of computer networking principles and practices. Familiarity with cabling techniques, low voltage systems, Ethernet standards, and related equipment. Proficiency in using testing equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters. Experience with Cisco routers is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members. Valid driver's license may be required for travel to job sites.
