Job Description
Description Detail-oriented and reliable Cable Technicians to support large-scale data center cabling deployments. This role involves installing and managing high volumes of pre-terminated cables (2,000+ per project) connecting servers, network equipment, and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Install and route pre-terminated fiber and copper cables between network and server equipment (e.g., racks, switches, machines)
- Handle cable runs up to 50 meters or more, depending on equipment layout
- Insert and connect transceivers and properly seat cable connections
- Follow detailed port mapping, labeling, and architecture documentation
- Maintain organized cable management (routing, dressing, securing, labeling)
- Perform validation checks to ensure correct connectivity and minimize errors
- Troubleshoot and correct misconfigured or incorrectly placed cables
- Rework cabling installations when required due to design changes or updates
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to interpret instructions and updates
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in the data center Work Environment & Expectations
- Projects may involve 2,000+ cable installations, requiring patience and precision
- Work is highly process-driven, not creative fabrication (no cable crimping or custom termination required)
- Uses pre-cut, pre-terminated cables only
- Installation accuracy is critical—errors can significantly increase project timelines
- Some rework may be required due to evolving designs or incorrect port mapping
