Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Low Voltage Cabling Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems. This role supports commercial and industrial projects involving data, voice, security, and audiovisual systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, terminate, label, and test low voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, coax) Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications Install cable pathways including conduit, cable trays, J-hooks, and sleeves Perform cable testing using certification tools (Fluke or equivalent) Troubleshoot connectivity issues and perform repairs as needed Maintain accurate documentation of installations and service work Ensure all work meets industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI) and company quality expectations Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades on job sites
Requirements:
Qualifications:
1-3+ years of experience in low voltage cabling or related field Knowledge of structured cabling systems and installation practices Experience terminating RJ45 jacks, patch panels, and fiber (preferred) Ability to read construction drawings and wiring diagrams Familiarity with cable testing and certification equipment Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in tight spaces Ability to stand, bend, and work for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications:
BICSI certification (Installer or Technician) OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Experience with access control, CCTV, or VoIP systems
Work Environment:
