Duration:

4-week trial (with strong potential to extend into a 3-4 year, 14-state project) We need 4-5 experienced Cable Technicians for underground copper cable removal in manholes and duct systems in Ft Myers Beach, Florida. Crew Composition (per team) 2 × Confined Space Entrants 2 × Safety Attendants / Hole Watch 1 × Entry Supervisor / Operator (trailer-mounted winch) This is hands-on, physical work involving manhole entry, cable cutting, pulling, and segmenting legacy copper cable (primarily 1800-pair gel-filled cable). Key Requirements Minimum 1-2 years of underground telecom construction / removal experience (copper or fiber) Hands-on experience cutting and removing large copper cables (sheath slitting, reciprocating saw work, pulling grips, etc.) — this is critical Current, valid Confined Space Entry Certification (preferred and strongly encouraged). If candidate does not have it, we will schedule and fully pay for training prior to start. Comfortable working as part of a 5-person crew in manholes and surface operations Valid driver's license with clean driving record Physically fit and able to work in hot, humid Florida conditions and traffic environments Strong safety mindset and attention to detail Nice-to-have (not required): OSHA 10 or 30 Previous experience with gel-filled cable or manhole gas monitoring Any additional OSHA certifications (trenching, excavation, etc.) What We Provide All safety equipment (including 4-gas monitors, tripods, blowers, harnesses, etc.) Tyvek coveralls and PPE All tools and equipment (recip saws, pulling grips, winch, etc.) You only need to bring: Steel or composite toe boots Compensation & Opportunity Competitive hourly rate + overtime 4-week trial period Excellent chance for long-term contract (3-4 years) across 14 states if performance is strong We pay for Confined Space certification if needed
