Job Overview We are seeking a motivated Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist senior technicians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of CCTV, access control, gate operators, intrusion detection systems, and related low voltage equipment. Your work will help ensure the seamless operation of security, alarm, surveillance, and telecommunication systems, helping clients feel secure and protected. Responsibilities Install, configure, and service low voltage systems including CCTV, access control, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and security systems. Assist with installation and service of gate operator systems, including LiftMaster, Viking Access Systems, and Maximum Controls . Assist with installation and service of PDK (ProdataKey) access control systems, card readers, gate entry systems, and intercom systems. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately complete installations and repairs. Conduct routine inspections and troubleshooting of electrical components, cabling, sensors, and system hardware to ensure optimal performance. Utilize hand tools and power tools safely to perform system upgrades or repairs on-site. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, system configurations, and service reports for client records. Assist with system design modifications to enhance security measures or accommodate new technology integrations. Support remote access software setup and configuration for client monitoring and management. Requirements Proven experience as a service technician or installer specializing in low voltage systems such as CCTV, security alarms, alarms, gate operators, or telecommunication networks. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to cabling, schematics interpretation, and system troubleshooting. Familiarity with computer networking principles essential for remote access setup and system integration. Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, and construction environments is highly desirable. Must be comfortable working outdoors in South Florida heat and weather conditions for extended periods. Must be comfortable working from ladders, lifts, rooftops, and elevated work areas. Must be physically capable of lifting equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be willing and able to travel for out-of-state projects as needed. Travel expenses, lodging, and per diem are provided by the company when applicable. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Strong work ethic, reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn are essential. Prior experience in alarm system sales or customer-facing roles is a plus but not required.
