Structured Cabling Technician Location:
Tampa, FL Compensation:

Long-term contract with possible extension or hire directly Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and dependable Structured Cabling Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper and fiber optic cabling systems in commercial environments. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality installation standards. Key Responsibilities Pull, install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems, including copper and fiber optic cabling. Install and certify CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic infrastructure according to industry standards and project specifications. Troubleshoot and repair cabling issues to ensure optimal network performance and minimal client downtime. Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, schematics, and installation drawings. Utilize cable testing and certification equipment such as Fluke testers and OTDRs. Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, testing results, and materials used. Collaborate with project managers, fellow technicians, and customers to ensure projects are completed on schedule. Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment. Travel to various project sites as needed. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of structured cabling installation experience . Strong knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling systems. Proficiency terminating and testing CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic cabling. Experience using cable certification and testing equipment (Fluke, OTDR, or similar). Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable transportation required. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must have a complete set of technician hand tools. #IND2
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
