Multiple Job Summary We are hiring multiple Cable Technicians
- Structured Cabling to support commercial projects throughout the Savannah, GA market .
This position is ideal for technicians with 1-3+ years of commercial low-voltage, structured cabling, copper, and/or fiber-optic experience who are looking for a long-term opportunity. Technicians will work at various commercial customer sites performing cable installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance. This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity with the potential to transition into a permanent position based on performance, attendance, business needs, and overall fit. Responsibilities Install, terminate, test, repair, modify, and maintain copper and fiber-optic cabling. Install and route low-voltage cable through conduit, above ceilings, between floors, and through commercial spaces. Pull, dress, label, terminate, and test structured cabling systems. Read and follow technical drawings, schematics, specifications, manuals, and installation procedures. Identify and properly work with standard cabling color codes, including: 568A 568B 6-strand fiber 12-strand fiber 25-pair 50-pair Install, relocate, and repair cable and modular connections. Assist with the installation of communications hardware and related equipment. Test cabling and troubleshoot connectivity or installation issues. Complete assigned projects safely, on time, and within budget. Maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism at all customer locations. Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, vendors, and management. Complete and submit required paperwork accurately and on time. Follow all company and project-specific safety requirements. Assist with field training and second-level troubleshooting when needed. Provide timely and accurate updates regarding project status, system issues, and resolutions. Escalate unresolved technical issues using established procedures and work with senior technicians or third-party vendors when necessary. Identify recurring problems and recommend improvements to prevent future issues. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications 1-3+ years of commercial structured cabling or low-voltage experience preferred. Hands-on experience installing and terminating copper cabling. Fiber-optic installation and termination experience is highly preferred. Familiarity with structured cabling standards and 568A/568B color codes. Ability to read and follow technical drawings, schematics, and project specifications. Experience using cable installation and testing tools. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Professional customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work at multiple commercial customer sites throughout the Savannah market. Reliable transportation and ability to travel between job sites as required. Ability to perform the physical requirements of commercial cabling installation. Physical & Work Environment This is a hands-on field position supporting commercial customer locations throughout the Savannah area.
Technicians should be comfortable with:
Working above ceilings and in ceiling spaces Pulling and routing cable Working with conduit and cable pathways Climbing ladders and working from lifts when required Installing and terminating copper and fiber cabling Working in active commercial environments Standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting as required Following job-specific and company safety procedures
