Job Description

Alert-Tech Systems, Inc. is a leading provider of comprehensive security solutions in the South GA and North Fla areas. We specialize in burglar alarms, CCTV systems, access control, and smart home technology. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, we're seeking an experienced Burglar Alarm and CCTV Service Technician to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge security technologies, industry training, provide exceptional service to our clients, and be part of a dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
Install, troubleshoot, program, and maintain a wide range of security systems, including burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, smart home systems, doorbells, and intercom systems. Travel to the job site and arrive on time, in professional attire commensurate with the assigned work, with all safety gear, required tools and parts. Diagnose system issues and advise customer of planned repair options, following established procedure regarding price, payment terms, and any required paperwork prior to work start. Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, floors, and other areas as required. Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or broken insulation. Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets, then position and terminate cables, wires and strapping. Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, and video cameras, and attach electrical and telephone wiring in order to connect components. Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features in order to ensure proper functioning, and to diagnose malfunctions. Maintain parts inventory. Sometimes perform small sales while on site servicing client's alarm. Provide customer training in the operation and functionality of system equipment. Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms. Complete service tickets in a timely manner for invoicing.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience as a technician in low voltage environments. Preferred knowledge of DSC (1616, Neo), DMP (XT-30,50, XTL, Access Control), Honeywell (Vista, PROSeries), Alarm.com, Alula, and Telguard systems. Proficiency in installation procedures, troubleshooting, and maintenance for structured wiring, alarm systems, CCTV systems, and smart home technology. Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and customer service orientation. Excellent communication skills and a passion for continuous learning. Comfortable working in varying conditions, including high-heat environments such as attics. Physical fitness for tasks like ladder climbing, wire running, and tool handling.
