Competitive, based on experience Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Lead Security Technician to join our team in the Boston area. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a hands-on technician with strong experience installing, troubleshooting, and leading projects involving access control, CCTV, and security systems . The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, leading field installations, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with customers, project managers, and other technicians. Responsibilities Lead and perform installation, service, and troubleshooting of access control and CCTV/security systems Install and terminate low-voltage cabling including Cat5/Cat6 and related security cabling Install and configure: IP cameras and CCTV systems Card readers and keypads Door strikes, mag locks, and request-to-exit devices Access control panels and related equipment Security devices and peripherals Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and repairs Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and cable plans Verify proper device installation, wiring, labeling, and connectivity Lead other technicians and provide direction on job sites Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, and team members Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment Complete project documentation and service reports as required Qualifications 3+ years of experience working with access control and/or CCTV systems Strong low-voltage installation experience Experience with IP cameras, access control systems, and security devices Ability to troubleshoot both wiring and system-related issues Experience terminating and testing Cat5/Cat6 cabling Ability to read blueprints and follow installation drawings Previous lead technician or foreman experience preferred Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and lead a crew when needed Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Must have your own basic hand tools Ability to pass required background/drug screening, if applicable Why Join Us?
