This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to begin or advance a career in IT, structured cabling, fiber optics, wireless networking, video surveillance, and commercial technology installations. The ideal candidate may have limited experience but is willing to learn, work with their hands, follow instructions, and develop professionally through hands-on training. The technician will assist with commercial installation and service projects for businesses, offices, warehouses, data centers, and other facilities. Training will be provided to the right candidate. Responsibilities Assist with installing, terminating, labeling, and testing network cabling Help install Cat5e, Cat6, fiber-optic, coaxial, and other low-voltage cabling Assist with patch panels, cable management, racks, pathways, and telecommunications rooms Support the installation of wireless access points, cameras, access-control devices, and audiovisual equipment Pull, route, secure, and organize cable above ceilings and through commercial spaces Use basic hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and cable-testing equipment Perform cable labeling, documentation, and certification testing under supervision Follow project plans, installation standards, safety procedures, and supervisor instructions Maintain a clean and organized job site Communicate professionally with coworkers, customers, general contractors, and other trades Travel to local job sites and occasionally work outside normal business hours when required Continue learning new installation methods, technologies, and industry standards Qualifications Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply Strong interest in pursuing a career in IT, networking, telecommunications, or commercial technology Dependable, punctual, motivated, and willing to learn Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Professional attitude and good communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to safely lift approximately 50 pounds Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms Ability to work in commercial construction environments, including unfinished buildings, ceilings, and mechanical spaces Reliable transportation to the company office or assigned job sites Valid driver's license preferred Basic computer skills preferred Previous experience with construction, electrical work, low-voltage systems, cabling, networking, or IT is helpful but not required Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED Experience with hand tools or basic electrical tools Familiarity with Ethernet, Wi-Fi Previous experience installing cameras, access points, speakers, or audiovisual equipment, network cabling etc. Experience using a cable tester or tone-and-probe kit Career Growth This position is designed for someone who wants to grow within the company. Successful employees may advance from Level 1 to Level 2 and eventually into roles such as: Senior Technician Lead Technician Fiber-Optic Technician Network Installation Technician Project Supervisor Service Technician IT or Network Support Specialist Training may include structured cabling, fiber optics, network equipment, wireless systems, video surveillance, certification testing, documentation, and project leadership.
