Job Description
Low Voltage Lead Technician & HelperPosition Overview We are seeking 2 Lead Technicians and 2 Helpers to support a large-scale low-voltage installation project. This project involves the installation of fiber optic, Cat6, and instrumentation cabling in a commercial environment. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced construction setting and following established safety and quality standards. Lead Technicians will be responsible for overseeing installation activities, interpreting project requirements, and supporting fiber testing and terminations. Helpers will assist with cable installation, material handling, and general project support. Key ResponsibilitiesLead Technicians + Install, route, secure, and terminate Cat6 and fiber optic cabling. + Read and interpret project drawings and installation requirements. + Oversee cable installation activities and assist field crews as needed. + Perform fiber terminations and testing. + Operate Fluke testers and document test results. + Ensure quality standards and installation best practices are followed. + Troubleshoot installation issues and support project completion efforts. Helpers + Assist with pulling and dressing Cat6 and fiber optic cabling. + Organize materials and maintain clean work areas. + Support lead technicians with installations and project tasks. + Follow safety procedures and site requirements. + Assist with labeling and documentation as directed. Required Skills + Low Voltage Installation + Cat6 Cabling + Fiber Optic Cabling + Cable Pulling and Routing + Cable Termination + Installation Support + Construction Site Safety Preferred QualificationsLead Technicians + Experience terminating fiber optic cable. + Experience using a Fluke tester or similar testing equipment. + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. + Previous commercial low-voltage installation experience. Helpers + Previous cabling or construction experience preferred. + Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Schedule + Day Shift + Monday through Friday + Standard work hours with a scheduled lunch break + Overtime may become available depending on project needs Safety & Site Requirements All candidates must be able to meet the following requirements: + OSHA 10 Certification + Ability to obtain or hold MEWP (Lift) Certification + Ability to wear required PPE + Work boots, jeans, and shirts with sleeves required This is a great opportunity for technicians looking to work on a large commercial cabling project and gain experience with fiber infrastructure, structured cabling, and low-voltage installation systems. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Omaha, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
