Duties Install, terminate, and troubleshoot low-voltage electrical wiring including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and structured cabling systems. Conduct fiber splicing and fiber optic system installation to ensure high-quality data transmission. Perform telecommunications testing using specialized equipment to verify system integrity and performance. Use diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and multimeters to identify electrical issues in AC/DC electrical systems and network wiring. Read schematics and technical diagrams for accurate system installation and troubleshooting. Provide field service support by diagnosing equipment issues, performing repairs, and ensuring optimal operation of communication systems. Maintain detailed documentation of all installations, repairs, and testing procedures for quality assurance. Install or replace power over ethernet devices Install or replace A/V equipment including interactive projectors Install or replace Security cameras Requirements Proven experience with low-voltage electrical wiring, network cabling (Ethernet, LAN), and structured cabling installation. Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems including VoIP, telephony (such as Avaya), and radio frequency (RF) testing. Familiarity with fiber splicing techniques and fiber optic system installation standards. Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, and telecommunication testing equipment safely and effectively. Understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) standards related to low-voltage electrical work. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Valid certification or training in telecommunications or electrical systems is preferred but not mandatory; ongoing technical proficiency is essential.
