Low Voltage Technician / Security Camera Installer / Access Control Tech / Lead Installer We are looking for a reliable, technically minded, hands-on Low Voltage Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who is handy, mechanically inclined, highly tech-savvy, organized, dependable, and a strong problem solver . We are looking for people from a variety of backgrounds, including low-voltage technicians, security technicians, lead technicians, apprentices, handymen, access-control technicians, security gate technicians, camera installers, network installers, electricians' helpers, cable technicians, and other mechanically or technically inclined tradespeople. You do not necessarily need years of formal low-voltage experience if you are extremely handy, comfortable with technology, know how to use tools, learn quickly, and can figure things out. Systems You May Work With Security cameras / CCTV systems NVR and DVR systems Access control systems Security gates and entry systems Door strikes and magnetic locks Keypads, card readers and NFC systems Intercom systems Commercial sound and speaker systems Alarm and security systems Network and Wi-Fi equipment Routers and network switches Cat5e / Cat6 cabling Structured cabling Low-voltage wiring POS and commercial technology equipment Residential and commercial technology systems Responsibilities Install, service and troubleshoot low-voltage systems Install security cameras and surveillance systems Run, terminate, test, label and organize Cat5e/Cat6 and low-voltage cabling Install access-control equipment, readers, locks and entry systems Install speakers, audio equipment, network equipment and other technology Properly mount equipment to drywall, concrete, masonry, wood, metal and other surfaces Determine the correct anchor, screw, fastener and mounting method for each installation Safely and securely mount cameras, speakers, monitors, equipment and hardware Configure mobile apps, software, cameras, NVRs, networks and connected devices Troubleshoot wiring, hardware, networking, software and installation issues Perform quality-control inspections before completing every project Confirm equipment is properly installed, secure, configured and fully operational Follow company installation standards, procedures and protocols Keep tools, equipment, vehicles and job sites clean and organized Take clear job-site photos and document completed work Communicate professionally with customers Explain basic system functionality to customers Identify additional customer needs or upgrade opportunities Coordinate with other technicians and management Manage time efficiently Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining quality Must Be Tech-Savvy Technology is a major part of this position. You should be comfortable using and learning: iPhone applications Mobile apps Web-based applications Camera software Network applications Wi-Fi and IP devices Routers and switches IP addresses and basic networking NVR and DVR interfaces Access-control software Bluetooth and connected devices Digital documentation Job-management applications Photo and video documentation You should be someone who can learn a new app, device, piece of equipment or software without being intimidated by technology. If you struggle with smartphones, apps, computers or basic technology, this position will likely not be a good fit.
