Job Description

Position Summary Sirius AV is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Low Voltage Technician to oversee the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and commissioning of low-voltage systems. The Lead Technician serves as the primary field leader on assigned projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards. This position combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, including directing installation crews, coordinating with project managers and customers, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring successful project completion. Key Responsibilities Technical Installation & Service Lead installation of structured cabling, home automation, audio/video, security, surveillance, networking, access control, and lighting control systems. Project Leadership Serve as lead technician on assigned projects. Coordinate daily jobsite activities and installation schedules. Assign tasks and provide direction to technicians and apprentices. Monitor project progress and communicate challenges, delays, or change requests to management. Verify project completion and punch-list items before closing out jobs. Quality Control Conduct quality inspections throughout projects. Ensure wiring, equipment placement, labeling, rack construction, and documentation meet Sirius AV standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite at all times. Reduce callbacks through thorough testing and verification procedures. Customer Service Act as the primary on-site representative of Sirius AV. Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders, contractors, and commercial clients. Explain system functionality and basic operation to customers. Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary. Training & Development Mentor and train junior technicians. Demonstrate installation best practices and safe work procedures. Support the development of technical skills and company standards throughout the team. Read and interpret plans, schematics, scopes of work, and manufacturer documentation. Perform system configuration, programming, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Diagnose and resolve technical issues in the field. Ensure installations comply with company standards, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes. Qualifications Required 2+ years of low-voltage installation experience. Proven experience leading projects or installation teams. Strong knowledge of structured cabling practices and low-voltage installation methods. Experience installing and troubleshooting AV, networking, surveillance, and security systems. Ability to read blueprints, floor plans, and technical drawings. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in attics, crawl spaces, ladders, and construction environments. Preferred Experience with Control4, Lutron, Savant, UniFi, Alarm.com, or similar platforms. Manufacturer certifications or industry certifications. Networking knowledge including programming, IP addressing, routers, switches, and wireless systems. Experience with system commissioning and customer training. Proven experience leading projects or installation teams. Strong knowledge of structured cabling practices and low-voltage installation methods. Experience installing and troubleshooting AV, networking, surveillance, and security systems. Ability to read blueprints, floor plans, and technical drawings. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in attics, crawl spaces, ladders, and construction environments. Pay:
$30.00 - $34.00 per hour
