Job Title:
Cable Technician Foreman Job Description The Cable Technician Foreman installs, routes, and supports low-voltage cabling and security-related systems in commercial environments. This role pulls and terminates CAT5/CAT6 and other low-voltage cabling, installs and supports access control, security/alarm systems, and surveillance cameras, and ensures all work follows site plans, safety standards, and quality expectations on active construction sites. Responsibilities Pull and route low-voltage cabling, including CAT5, CAT6, and other structured cabling systems, to designated locations. Install and support access control systems, security/alarm systems, and surveillance cameras (CCTV) in commercial environments such as warehouses and large facilities. Support structured cabling installations from start to finish, including cable tray work, cable routing, and cable termination. Follow site plans, blueprints, and installation layouts to ensure accurate placement and routing of cabling and devices. Terminate cables at patch panels, jacks, and related hardware, ensuring clean, organized, and labeled terminations. Assist with troubleshooting low-voltage systems, including identifying and resolving cabling, connectivity, and device issues. Perform system testing as needed to verify proper operation of cabling, access control, security, and CCTV systems. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to install, secure, and support cabling and related hardware. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the job site, including proper handling and storage of materials and tools. Adhere to all safety protocols and job site expectations while working on active construction sites. Collaborate with other trades and team members to coordinate installation activities and minimize disruption on site. Support mechanical and construction-related tasks as they relate to cabling and system installation. Essential Skills Experience with cable pulling and low-voltage systems in commercial environments. Hands-on experience with access control systems, security/alarm systems, or camera (CCTV) installations. Proficiency with CAT5 and CAT6 cable installations, including routing, securing, and termination. Ability to terminate cables at patch panels, jacks, and other termination hardware. Ability to read and follow basic layouts, blueprints, site plans, or installation instructions. Strong troubleshooting skills for structured cabling, low-voltage, and security systems. Comfort working on active construction sites and in fast-paced, project-based environments. Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with construction practices related to cabling. Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Reliable transportation to travel to assigned job sites. Must have own basic hand tools required for cabling and termination work. Demonstrated commitment to working safely and following safety procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with fire alarm or other low-voltage life safety systems. Prior experience in warehouse or large commercial facility cabling projects. Familiarity with structured cabling standards and best practices. Ability to coordinate with multiple trades on construction sites. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain organized cabling and documentation. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based on active construction sites in commercial environments such as warehouses and large facilities. You will work in a fast-paced, project-based setting where conditions can include noise, dust, and ongoing construction activity. The position involves regular use of ladders, cable trays, and various hand tools and power tools for cabling and system installation. Safety is a core expectation; hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves are provided, while you are expected to supply your own safety boots and safety vest. Work may require standing, bending, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift, and you will collaborate closely with other trades and site personnel to complete installations safely and efficiently. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Memphis, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
