Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing low-voltage electrical systems across various commercial and industrial sites. Duties Install, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems including CCTV, fiber optic cabling, structured wiring, Ethernet networks, and telecommunication systems. Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic systems installation to ensure high-quality data transmission. Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and telecommunications testing equipment to identify faults and perform repairs efficiently. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for accurate system setup and troubleshooting. Conduct network installation tasks including cable termination (Cat5, Cat6), equipment wiring, and connection of Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and Avaya communication systems. Perform routine maintenance on telecommunication equipment like VoIP phones, radio frequency (RF) testing devices, and network hardware to optimize performance. Ensure all installations comply with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and local electrical codes (including AC/DC electrical systems). Maintain detailed records of system configurations, repairs, and service reports for accountability and future reference. Install Camera and Wireless Access Points Interior and Exterior. Requirements Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or Service Technician in telecommunications or related fields. Strong knowledge of computer networking including LAN/WAN setup, network wiring, Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), and structured cabling installation. Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, fiber optic systems installation, and troubleshooting optical networks. Familiarity with telecommunication systems such as VoIP, telephony hardware (including Avaya), and communication system installation. Ability to use diagnostic tools like ohmmeters, cable testers, RF testers, and other telecommunications testing equipment effectively. Proficiency in reading schematics, technical diagrams, and electrical wiring plans. Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools necessary for cabling installation and equipment repair. Electrical experience with AC/DC systems; knowledge of NEC standards is preferred. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel locally for field service work. Able to pass a background check and drug test Knowledge and trained on usage of aerial platform lifts.
