Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Fiber Cable Technician and become a vital part of expanding high-speed internet connectivity! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic cables and related network infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure seamless data transmission for residential and commercial clients, helping bridge the digital divide. Duties Install, splice, and terminate fiber optic cables with precision using specialized hand tools and splicing equipment Conduct network installations including Ethernet, telephony, and low voltage cabling systems in various settings Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on fiber optic networks to ensure optimal performance Use testing devices such as ohmmeters to verify cable integrity and electrical continuity Assist with the setup and configuration of Cisco routers and other networking hardware Interpret technical diagrams, mechanical drawings, and schematics to guide installation processes Conduct field service activities including site surveys, cable routing, and system testing to meet project specifications Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including test results, splicing records, and service reports Skills Proven experience in fiber splicing, network installation, and telecommunication systems Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet and low voltage wiring Familiarity with Cisco routers, switches, and basic network configuration Hands-on experience with telephony systems and cabling techniques Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate hand tools such as crimpers, cutters, and fiber cleavers efficiently Electrical experience with troubleshooting using ohmmeters or similar testing devices Excellent field service skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments Mechanical knowledge related to cable management, conduit installation, and infrastructure support Ability to interpret technical schematics and mechanical drawings accurately Strong safety awareness with adherence to all safety protocols for working with low voltage electrical systems Embark on a rewarding career where your technical skills make a real difference!
