Role Overview As a Cable Splicing Technician , you will play a key role in maintaining and expanding HCTC's telecommunications network.

Responsibilities include:

Splicing copper and fiber optic cables in indoor and outdoor environments Installing copper and fiber terminals on various cable sizes Managing slack and grounding cables in neat splice cases Performing mid-sheath splices and assisting with construction lineman duties Creating and interpreting splicing schematics and diagrams Documenting staking sheets and supporting project timelines through inspections and design Performing assigned cutovers Qualifications Education and/or Experience High school diploma or equivalent 2 years of relevant telecom construction experience preferred Specialized skills training/certification may be required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must have a valid Class C Texas driver's license If relocating to Texas from another state or country, must have a valid driver's license equivalent to a Texas Class C and obtain a Texas license within 30 days Must maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under HCTC's standard auto insurance policy Must have and maintain, or be able to obtain, a Class A Commercial Driver's License Pole Climbing Certification (or ability to attain within 6 months of hire) required Schedule Full-time, 40 hours per week.
