AM Responsibilities:

The Cable Repair Technician is responsible for performing cable builds, repairs, splicing, testing, and related production activities for Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) cable. This position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to strict safety procedures, and the ability to perform hands-on electrical and mechanical work in both indoor and outdoor environments. Perform moderately complex cable builds and repairs for Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) cable. Perform high-voltage testing of ESP cable in accordance with established safety procedures. Perform cable splicing and repairs to ESP cable. Perform spooling of ESP cable and related cable-handling activities. Complete required testing, inspection, and production documentation accurately. Troubleshoot basic electrical equipment issues and identify potential problems. Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and established work instructions. Maintain accuracy and attention to detail during cable assembly, testing, and repair activities. Work effectively under general supervision while managing assigned tasks and priorities. Interact professionally with customers and coworkers and provide clear, effective communication. Support operational goals through effective planning, priority setting, time management, and timely completion of assigned work.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Basic electrical background strongly valued due to the safety-sensitive nature of the position. 1+ year of experience installing or repairing Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) cable preferred but not required. Candidates with general mechanical or electrical experience, cable-related experience, or strong mechanical aptitude may be considered and trained. Forklift experience preferred. Mechanical experience in automotive, diesel, shop, or similar environments is a plus. High-voltage electrical safety training will be provided internally. Physical Demands and Job Conditions:

High hand dexterity required for cable splicing, manipulation, assembly, and machine operation. Repetitive hands-on cable and machine work. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force and frequently exert up to 20 pounds of force. Ability to continuously exert up to 10 pounds of force when required. Ability to climb and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and similar structures. Ability to maintain body balance while walking, standing, crouching, or working on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces. Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in various physical positions. Ability to extend hands and arms in various directions and use upper extremities to push, pull, drag, haul, or move objects. Ability to lift and move objects from lower to higher positions or horizontally. Ability to perform detailed work requiring frequent use of fingers, hands, wrists, and arms. Ability to perceive size, shape, temperature, texture, and other physical attributes through touch. Ability to communicate detailed instructions verbally and receive information through normal speaking levels. Close visual acuity required for inspection of small defects, parts, machinery, measurements, assembly, and fabrication. Visual acuity required to operate motor vehicles and evaluate the accuracy and quality of assigned work. Work may be performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. Exposure to extreme heat, including temperatures above 100°F for extended periods. Potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation, oils, and other cutting fluids.
