position. The hours depend on the area and the tickets that come it. You need to provide your own tools and transportation. We service the entire US so other areas are encouraged to apply. Metropolitan areas get more service calls than other areas so workload can vary. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work on diverse telecommunications projects, including network installation, fiber splicing, and structured cabling systems. As a key player in our field service operations, you will deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex network infrastructure. Your expertise will help clients optimize their communication systems and ensure reliable connectivity across various environments. Duties Install, configure, and troubleshoot network cabling systems including Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic cables in commercial and industrial settings. Perform fiber splicing with precision to ensure optimal signal integrity for high-speed data transmission. Set up and maintain network equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, switches, and VoIP telephony systems. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations and repairs. Conduct site surveys to assess existing infrastructure and determine the best solutions for network expansion or upgrades. Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment to diagnose electrical issues and verify system performance. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about project status, technical issues, and maintenance procedures. Experience Proven experience as a service technician specializing in networking, cabling, or telecommunications within a field environment. Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet standards, and telecommunication protocols. Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and troubleshooting fiber optic networks. Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards for low voltage wiring installations. Working knowledge of Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, Avaya telephony systems, and VoIP solutions. Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals accurately. Experience working in data centers or similar high-tech environments is highly desirable. Skilled in using electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters for diagnostics.
