Granado Technologies is seeking a dependable, hands-on Field Technician to join our growing team. Our technicians work at commercial customer locations installing and servicing low-voltage cabling, network equipment, cameras, and other technology. This is a hands-on field position, not a desk-based IT/help desk role. Previous low-voltage experience is preferred, but we're willing to train the right candidate. We're especially interested in applicants with experience in construction, electrical, HVAC, telecom, installation, maintenance, field service, or other hands-on trades who are mechanically inclined and learn quickly. Schedule & Hours This is a part-time position with a variable schedule based on customer work orders. Technicians must generally be available Monday-Friday between approximately 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. This does not mean you will work 7:00 AM-5:00 PM every day. Start times, end times, workdays, and total weekly hours vary based on scheduled jobs, and weekly hours are not guaranteed. Most work is scheduled in advance. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required depending on customer needs. Pay & Training New hires complete an approximately 3-week paid training period at $16.00/hour to learn Granado Technologies' procedures, installation standards, tools, documentation, safety practices, and customer expectations. After successful completion of training, pay increases to $20.00-$22.00/hour based on demonstrated skill level and performance. What You'll Do Responsibilities may include: Pulling and routing Cat5e/Cat6 network cable Terminating RJ45 connectors and keystone jacks Testing, tracing, and troubleshooting network cabling Using cable testers, toners, hand tools, and power tools Installing security cameras and wireless access points Mounting TVs, displays, and other equipment Installing and troubleshooting network and technology equipment Assisting with POS systems, computers, printers, IP phones, time clocks, and related devices Maintaining tools, materials, and job-site organization Documenting completed work Providing professional service at customer locations Qualifications At least 1 year of experience in low-voltage, construction, electrical, HVAC, telecom, installation, maintenance, field service, or another hands-on trade is preferred. We're looking for someone who: Is mechanically inclined and learns new skills quickly Is comfortable using hand and power tools Can follow instructions and retain hands-on training Can troubleshoot problems and work independently when appropriate Is dependable, punctual, and communicates professionally Is comfortable traveling between customer job sites Previous low-voltage or structured cabling experience is a strong plus, but not required for a candidate with the right hands-on experience and ability to learn. Physical Requirements Candidates must be able to: Lift up to 90 lbs. as needed Climb and work from ladders up to 14 feet Bend, kneel, reach, climb, and work above ceilings Perform physical work for extended periods Location & Travel This is a field-based position primarily serving San Antonio and surrounding areas. Technicians travel to scheduled customer locations rather than working at one fixed location each day. Occasional travel to other Texas cities, may be required depending on project needs. Most work is local to the San Antonio area, out-of-town travel is not an everyday occurrence. Out-of-town assignments are generally scheduled in advance.
