Job Description
Cable Technician I (Entry Level) Project Overview Join a long-term data center construction project expected to last at least one year. This role is ideal for dependable, hard-working individuals who enjoy hands-on work and are comfortable working both indoors and outdoors. Schedule + M-F 6:45 AM - 3:45 PM + Schedule may transition to 10-hour shifts based on project needs Responsibilities + Pull and install data and communication cabling + Assist experienced technicians with installation activities + Handle, organize, and transport materials throughout the job site + Use hand and power tools safely and effectively + Climb ladders and work in construction environments + Install cable tray, wireway, receptacles, and related infrastructure + Build and outfit telecommunications closets, including racks, patch panels, backboards, and fiber hardware + Perform cable terminations and patch panel connections + Assist with conduit installation and cable routing + Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area Required Skills + Cable installation experience or knowledge + Basic understanding of Cat6 cabling + Punchdown and cable termination experience preferred + Ability to use hand and power tools Requirements + Valid driver's license + Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. + Basic hand tools Travel & Training + Candidates located within approximately 40 miles of the project site are preferred. + Must be willing to travel for 3 to 6 weeks of training at another project location. + Travel assignments include a daily per diem of $50/day. Experience Level Entry Level Previous cabling, construction, or low-voltage experience is a plus, but motivated candidates with a strong work ethic are encouraged to apply. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Temple, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
