Duties Assist with the installation and termination of low voltage cabling including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic splicing, and telecommunication wiring in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Support senior technicians in setting up and testing network equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, VoIP systems, and Ethernet switches. Help with the installation of CCTV surveillance systems, access control devices, and other security technology using schematics and technical diagrams. Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment to troubleshoot electrical issues and verify system integrity. Aid in the repair and maintenance of telecommunication equipment, computer hardware, and data center infrastructure to ensure optimal performance. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including system configurations, test results, and service reports. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients during site visits and supporting their technical needs. Experience Previous experience as a service technician or in a related field involving low voltage systems is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates. Familiarity with CCTV systems, fiber splicing, network installation, schematics reading, Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), and telephony systems such as Avaya or VoIP is highly desirable. Knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN (Local Area Network), data center environments, Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, and network troubleshooting techniques. Hands-on experience with electrical work, cabling standards (NEC), power tools usage, and equipment repair is a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Ability to follow detailed schematics and technical instructions accurately while adhering to safety protocols.
