• $38 per hour This is a hands-on field installation role
• not an IT, help desk, or remote support position.

You will be on job sites daily running cable, mounting equipment, and physically installing and repairing security hardware. Dunbar Security Solutions is hiring an experienced Alarm & CCTV Field Technician to install, service, and repair electronic security systems at commercial and residential sites throughout the Richmond area. This role is built for someone who has worked as a low-voltage technician, security systems installer, alarm technician, or CCTV installer

What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Company vehicle and tools provided (where applicable) Opportunities for overtime Career growth and advancement opportunities Supportive team environment Stable, long-term employment in the security industry What You Will Be Doing Install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling for CCTV, alarm, and access control systems Mount and configure security cameras, DVRs/NVRs, alarm panels, motion sensors, door contacts, card readers, and electronic locks Run conduit and cable through walls, ceilings, attics, and crawlspaces Program and configure alarm panels and access control systems Diagnose and repair system malfunctions in the field Test and inspect completed installations to ensure proper operation and code compliance Perform emergency/after-hours service calls as needed Relocate and upgrade existing security equipment at customer sites Maintain accurate service tickets and installation documentation Work on ladders, lifts, and in tight or elevated spaces as required by the job site Physical Requirements Ability to climb ladders and work at heights Ability to work in attics, crawlspaces, and other confined spaces Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites throughout the region Required Qualifications Prior hands-on experience installing or servicing CCTV, alarm, or access control systems (low-voltage / electronic security trade background required) Working knowledge of: CCTV camera and NVR/DVR installation Intrusion alarm panel installation and programming Access control hardware (card readers, electronic locks, door hardware) Valid Virginia DCJS Electronic Security Technician Registration, or eligibility to obtain one Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and cable-pulling equipment Skills & Competencies Strong troubleshooting skills in a live field environment Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and site plans Excellent verbal and written communication with customers Professional appearance and demeanor Ability to work independently and manage a daily service/install schedule Ability to work as part of a team on larger installation projects Additional Information /
