Low Voltage Cable Technician ( experience preferred) MidAtlantic SOurce One Richmond, VA Job Details Full-time $18 - $26 an hour 9 hours ago Benefits Paid training Fuel card Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off On-the-job training Vision insurance 401(k) matching Opportunities for advancement Life insurance Qualifications Communication system installation Telecommunications low voltage systems Fastening tools High school diploma or GED Fiber optic systems installation Full Job Description We are looking for voice, data, fiber optic cable installation techs for projects in greater Richmond/central VA area, and occasionally out-of-town (with paid travel time). Salary is commensurate with experience; however, all employees are given a 90-day review at which they are eligible for an increase based on satisfactory performance/progress during the initial 90-day period. Experience is preferred; however, we will train the right person.
Summary of job responsibilities:
Cable installation (placement, termination, testing, labeling and documentation). Install, terminate, test, label and document category 5e & 6 structured cabling system. Install, terminate, test, label and document all types of fiber optic horizontal, & backbone cables. Install cable pathway systems (cable trays, cable racks, J-hooks or D-rings). Dress and route cable into telecommunications closets, modular furniture and other work area outlets. Build out telecommunication and equipment rooms. Terminate low-voltage devices. Follow prints.
Education Requirement:
GED or High School Diploma We provide PPE and assist with tool purchase.
Basic Hand Tools:
screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, wrench set, cable stripper, flashlight and gloves.
