Occasional after-hours or weekend work with overtime pay About the Role LiveWire IT Solutions is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Technician to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and support low voltage infrastructure across commercial and industrial environments. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who takes pride in clean, organized work, understands structured cabling standards, and can work effectively both independently and alongside our technical team. You will help ensure communication networks, fiber optic connections, and related networking infrastructure are installed correctly, tested thoroughly, documented accurately, and ready to support our clients' day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities Installation:

Pull, route, label, terminate, test, and organize coaxial, fiber optic, and Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A/Cat7 cabling. Install pathways and supports including conduit, cable trays, J-hooks, sleeves, and related hardware.

Structured Cabling:

Terminate RJ45 jacks and patch panels, follow

standards, dress and manage cable professionally, and verify installations using appropriate testing equipment.

Troubleshooting:

Diagnose faults and performance issues in existing low voltage systems, identify likely causes, and complete repairs or recommend corrective action.

Field Work:

Install and support hardware, components, and cabling in walls, ceilings, crawl spaces, equipment rooms, and other job-site environments.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of installations, service work, cable labeling, testing results, materials used, and relevant project details.

Coordination:

Communicate professionally with project managers, supervisors, clients, senior technicians, and other trades to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.

Safety:

Follow company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and job-site rules at all times. Tools & Technical Skills Candidates should be comfortable using common low voltage and construction tools, including punch-down tools, screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, drills, crimpers, voltmeters, tape measures, ladders, and related equipment. Required job tools will be provided by LiveWire. Strong candidates will be able to read blueprints, construction drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams; understand fundamental wiring and structured cabling principles; demonstrate strong general computer skills; and work confidently with

standards. Qualifications Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation. Demonstrated hands-on experience with low voltage cabling, installation, service, or a closely related field. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, teamwork, and professional conduct on client job sites. Comfort driving work trucks and, when needed, vehicles with trailers. Ability to manage assigned work responsibly and communicate when additional support or direction is needed. Preferred Experience Knowledge of structured cabling systems and professional installation practices. Experience terminating RJ45 jacks, patch panels, and fiber optic cabling. Experience using cable testing, tracing, and certification equipment. Ability to interpret construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and project documentation. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Comfort working on ladders, lifts, and in tight or confined spaces. Ability to stand, bend, reach, walk, climb, and perform hands-on work for extended periods. Ability to work safely in varied indoor and outdoor job-site conditions. Why Join LiveWire?
