Type:
full-time We are currently hiring Field Technicians in Portland, Salem and Eugene Oregon, Vancouver and Seattle Washington, Utah and Colorado supporting residential installation and service projects for Xfinity and AT&T. Position Overview This is a 1099 Independent Contractor opportunity. Technicians travel to customers' homes to install and service internet, television, and phone services. (Fiber projects do not include TV service.) Main Responsibilities Install cable from the utility pole to the customer's home, including ladder work Run and install cable inside residential properties Connect, activate, and configure equipment Troubleshoot basic service and connectivity issues Explain equipment and services to customers Communicate with customers, dispatchers, and supervisors Complete assigned jobs and required documentation Schedule & Compensation 5-6 days per week, typically 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Production-based pay, approximately $30
- 150 per completed job New technicians typically complete 4-6 jobs per day Experienced technicians may complete 6-8+ jobs per day Typical earnings: New technicians: $1,200
- 1,400/week After the adaptation period: $1,400
- 1,800+/week Actual earnings depend on completed work, experience, job availability, and market conditions.
Requirements Valid U.S. driver's license Valid Social Security Number (SSN) Conversational/intermediate English Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Comfortable with ladder and physical field work Professional attitude and good customer-service skills Vehicle A white minivan or pickup truck is preferred. If you do not have a suitable vehicle, a rental may be available for approximately $150 per week, subject to availability. Payment Schedule Payments are issued every Friday. Please note that the first payment is approximately three weeks after starting, followed by weekly payments. Optional travel opportunities to projects in other states may also be available and may offer higher compensation.
