Job description: A Cable Installation Technician is accountable for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cable systems, which encompass television, internet, and telephone services. This role requires the handling of various types of cables, ensuring seamless connectivity, and providing comprehensive customer support for any technical issues that may arise.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Configuration Effectively install and configure cable systems, encompassing internet, telephone, and television services, to enhance customer connectivity. Perform thorough tests to verify that cable connections are operating correctly, ensuring clients enjoy high-quality service. Skillfully set up and install devices such as modems, routers, and set-top boxes, along with other related equipment, to optimise user experience. Maintenance and Troubleshooting Diagnose and resolve issues related to connectivity, signal strength, and hardware malfunctions. Conduct regular maintenance and implement upgrades to ensure optimal network performance. Inspect, replace, and repair defective equipment or cables as necessary. Customer Interaction Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding the appropriate utilisation of installed systems. Address inquiries and concerns related to the performance of cable services. Enhance customer satisfaction by clearly explaining available services and assisting with any immediate issues that may arise. Safety and Compliance It is essential to diligently follow all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Compliance with installation guidelines and site-specific regulations is not just important; it is non-negotiable. Additionally, the responsible use of protective equipment and tools is critical to ensuring a safe and secure work environment.
Requirements:
Valid driver's license and Social Security card. Clean background check. Reliable white van, minivan, or pickup truck. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with fibre/coaxial cable systems is required.
