Job Description
Verigent, a nationwide telecommunications staffing agency, has an opening for a Cable Technician to join our client's team in the Milwaukee WI market! - Identify and prepare pathways and j-hook supports for new cabling system installation
- Pull copper, coaxial and fiber optic cable in various types of environments
- Build out data closets - install ladder rack, cable trays, data racks and rack-mount equipment
- Terminate data jacks at station end and install faceplates
- Route and dress Cat6 cables at the rack and terminate at patch panel
- Test Cat6 cable installations, and perform basic troubleshooting
- Assist with testing fiber optic cable with power meter and light source (Fluke), OTDR tester, voltage meter, and other test equipment associated with projects
- Read construction prints and identify cabling pathways, maintaining compliance with construction project specifications
