Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Field Manager - Anglin Civil (Airport Snow Removal) Full‑Time Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport Anglin Civil is seeking a highly experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic/ Field Manager to support our operations at Ted Stevens Anchorage Airport , including our elite Airport Snow Removal division. We are looking for a professional, motivated, team‑oriented technician with deep experience in diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, air brake systems, and advanced troubleshooting . This position maintains the fleet of machines and assists in managing on call operators during snow storms on the ramp. About the Role As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic with Anglin Civil, you will maintain, diagnose, and repair a wide range of specialized heavy equipment, including: Caterpillar loaders (950M through 980M) Oshkosh runway brooms, blowers, and Snowplows powered by Detroit Diesel, along with CAT engines ranging from C11 through C18 Air brake systems , including inspection, troubleshooting, and repair Semi and Tractor Trailers - Core Responsibilities Engine diagnostics and repairs on heavy diesel platforms Electrical troubleshooting , including complex fault tracing Ability to troubleshoot machines without schematics , using experience and mechanical intuition Ability to teach and mentor up‑and‑coming mechanics through in‑depth repairs and hands‑on guidance Perform repairs accurately, efficiently, and cost‑effectively Keep equipment operational during critical snow events and high‑pressure conditions What We're Looking For 5+ years ' experience working on heavy diesel equipment Strong background in hydraulics , electrical systems , air brakes , and engine diagnostics Ability to troubleshoot equipment with or without schematics Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work 10‑hour shifts A self‑starter who stays on task without supervision Ability to lead, mentor, and guide developing technicians Willingness to work in adverse weather during snow events Work Schedule Typical work week 40 hours Inspecting maintaining equipment readiness and training. Snow Season (Oct 1 - May 1): Must be available for snow events , including nights, weekends, and extended shifts as needed.
