Job Description

We are looking for an experienced field Diesel Mechanic and Maintenance, any Telecom or Electrical skills are a plus. Main duty is the support of many older Lister diesel generators. These positions are on a two-three week on, two-three week off shift working 7 days a week for 12 hours a day while on shift. Employees that live outside of Alaska would have to arrange their own travel to and from Fairbanks, Alaska. While on shift housing, food, and a vehicle are provided. All of the work locations are remote and do not have standard city amenities. It is hourly pay, with a base of 40 hours regular and 44 hours of OT per week on shift. May include additional time as required. Salary is DOE with a range of $40 to $50 per hour. Performance-based incentive compensation is offered in addition. Employees are eligible to participate in the corporate health plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, and IRS pre-tax Flexible Spending Account plan upon employment. In addition they are eligible to participate in the company 401(k) plan after 60 days of employment. Candidates must be US Citizens and currently reside in the US. Must pass a full background check and drug testing as well as ongoing random drug testing. Must be able to obtain a TWIC card within 3 months of employment. Required Qualifications It is understood that candidates may be stronger in telecom OR stronger in mechanical and maintenance. 5+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic Experience with diesel generators Experience in general facilities maintenance duties Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Strong communication skills for coordination with team members and stakeholders. Any experience in telecommunications, RF systems, or network infrastructure is a plus. Includes VHF, and UHF radio networks, as well as digital and analog multiplexing as well of the use of test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, power meters, and T1/E1 testers. Additional Requirements Ability to work rotating shifts with extended hours and weekends. Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair generators. Valid Driver's License; ability to travel to remote pipeline locations when required.
Key Responsibilities Generator, HVAC, and Facilities Maintenance:
Maintain and troubleshoot site power and environmental systems including diesel generators, HVAC, battery plants, and facility infrastructure through scheduled inspections, seasonal readiness work, and rapid response to outages or equipment failures. Suport for telecommunication and eletronic systems.
Remote & Field Work:
Travel to remote sites via vehicle and helicopter to perform on-site maintenance and emergency repairs.
Technical Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting procedures.
Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, field technicians, and operations personnel, to resolve complex technical issues. Please respond with resume. Thank you!
