Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Service Technician and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel equipment across various locations. In this role, you will diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of diesel-powered machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep equipment running smoothly, supporting operations in production and automotive recycling. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines and related systems using schematics, electrical testing tools, and automotive diagnostics software. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and crushers to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. Repair and replace components including transmissions, shocks & struts, brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, HVAC systems, and powertrain parts. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs. Utilize heavy equipment operation skills to lift, move, or position large components safely during repairs or assembly processes. Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately. Skills Proven dealership experience with heavy machinery repair and maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC components. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including soldering), and fabrication techniques. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, or industrial machinery. Ability to read schematics accurately for diagnostics and repairs; familiarity with automotive diagnostics software is a plus. Knowledge of tire service procedures and suspension alignment practices. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail in assembly or repair tasks. $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
