Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel & Gas Mechanic Service Technician (with tools needed to perform duties) to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment, motor homes and gas burner fleet vehicles . Your expertise will ensure equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably across various sectors including construction, agriculture, and transportation. Duties Perform detailed diagnostics using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues with diesel and gas engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components. Conduct repairs and maintenance on equipment such as diesel & gas motor homes , diesel and gas bucket trucks and fleet trucks (150, 250, 550, 2500, 5500, etc) to ensure optimal performance. Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and assembly skills to meet specific repair requirements. Replace or repair brake systems, alignments, tires, and suspension parts to maintain safety standards across all machinery. Troubleshoot electrical systems and wiring harnesses; perform electrical repairs and testing to resolve operational issues. Perform preventive maintenance tasks including fluid changes, filter replacements, engine tune-ups, and system inspections to extend equipment lifespan. Operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing procedures while adhering to safety protocols and OSHA standards. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed; communicate effectively with management regarding work completed or needed. Skills Proven work experience or extensive mechanic background working with heavy-light duty equipment. Strong fabrication skills utilizing welding, soldering, cutting tools, and assembly techniques. Ability to read and interpret schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams accurately. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics for diesel & gas engines as well as transmissions and air brake systems. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, alignment devices, hydraulic presses, and heavy lifting equipment safely. Experience with HVAC systems on industrial vehicles or machinery is a plus. Mechanical knowledge of suspension systems, hydraulics, welding techniques, tire service and vehicle maintenance procedures. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills combined with experience in soldering or wiring repairs. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to supervisor & team members. $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
