Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. In this energetic role, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our fleet running smoothly and efficiently, supporting various construction and industrial projects. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, electrical systems, and other heavy equipment components using schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other heavy equipment to maximize operational uptime. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently by analyzing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems to identify root causes. Service and repair farm machinery and industrial equipment including power take-off (PTO) systems, suspensions, HVAC systems, tires, brakes, alignments, and suspension components. Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed; interpret schematics and technical manuals accurately. Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform routine inspections to ensure safety compliance across all machinery and vehicles. Experience Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician with dealership experience preferred. Strong background in construction equipment servicing including excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and loaders. Skilled in automotive diagnostics with an emphasis on diesel engine repair and troubleshooting heavy machinery. Hands-on experience with OEM parts replacement for Caterpillar or similar brands; familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, service lifts or hoists safely; comfortable performing heavy lifting as required. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
