Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair, particularly with diesel engines. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The Diesel Mechanic will work on a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment, contributing to the overall reliability of our fleet. Duties Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on diesel engines and related systems. Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and tire service. Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Operate heavy equipment as necessary for testing purposes or during repairs. Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on each vehicle or piece of equipment. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations while working in the shop or field. Must be willing to work in the shop and rotate on call for mobile road service. Must supply own basic hand tools. Experience Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, particularly with diesel engines. Experience working with hydraulics and industrial equipment is highly desirable. Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and effectively. Previous experience as a service technician is preferred. Skills in soldering for electrical repairs are an advantage. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnostics and repairs. Experience with computer based diagnostic tools preferred, but not required.
