Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. This energetic role offers the opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including construction, agricultural, and industrial equipment. You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring optimal operation of diesel engines and related systems. Responsibilities Conduct thorough diagnostics of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake components using schematics and diagnostic tools. Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and construction machinery to ensure safety and efficiency. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs. Troubleshoot equipment issues including suspension, alignment, HVAC systems, tire service, and electrical diagnostics to minimize downtime. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document repairs accurately for compliance and future reference. Assist in the assembly, disassembly, and testing of machinery components following OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Support heavy lifting operations safely while handling large parts or equipment during maintenance or repair procedures. Skills Proven dealership experience with heavy equipment servicing or automotive repair is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, and electrical systems. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and diagnostic software for troubleshooting complex issues. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose problems on construction machinery or farm equipment. Experience with fabrication techniques including welding and metalworking to customize or repair parts. Familiarity with operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or tractor-trailers is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
