This is a great opportunity for an experienced mechanic who enjoys working independently, takes pride in keeping equipment safe and reliable, and can identify and address maintenance issues before they turn into costly breakdowns. The ideal candidate is someone who is hands-on, organized, dependable, and able to prioritize their workload with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Perform routine preventative maintenance on company dump trucks, trailers, and equipment including oil changes, lubrication, brake repairs, fluid checks, filter changes, and other scheduled maintenance Inspect trucks and equipment regularly to identify potential mechanical or safety issues Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and other equipment-related problems Maintain trucks and equipment in safe, reliable, and road-ready condition Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, parts, and service performed Monitor maintenance needs and proactively communicate upcoming repairs or concerns with management Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop and work area Assist with emergency or breakdown repairs when needed Work independently and manage daily maintenance priorities Help ensure the company fleet remains operational and minimizes downtime Perform other duties as assigned Experience 2+ years on the job diesel mechanic experience Knowledge of diesel engines, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and basic hydraulics with specific focus on dump trucks Strong work ethic, positive attitude and self-motivated to work independently Ability to perform preventative maintenance and identify/troubleshoot developing mechanical issues Demonstrated/proven ability to prioritize and organize workload and tasks Ability to read and understand repair manuals, diagnostic tools and understanding of DOT regulations High School, GED or combination of training and/or experience required Driver's license required Must be able to pass a standard drug test required

Pay:

$32.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
