In Person Job Summary ND Global Consulting Services, Inc. (NDGCS) is seeking an experienced Journeyman Diesel Mechanic to support a school district transportation operation in Glendale, Arizona . The selected candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing district transportation vehicles and related equipment. This position requires strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, attention to safety, and the ability to independently complete preventive maintenance and repair assignments. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel-, gasoline-, and propane-powered vehicles. Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and related vehicle systems. Repair or replace components including brakes, fuel systems, transmissions, alternators, batteries, electrical wiring, and other vehicle systems. Conduct routine and required vehicle safety inspections. Troubleshoot mechanical problems and determine appropriate corrective actions. Respond to roadside service calls and emergency vehicle repair needs when required. Complete work orders, repair documentation, maintenance records, and inspection logs accurately. Assist with maintaining inventory of tools, equipment, replacement parts, and supplies. Follow applicable district, state, federal, and workplace safety requirements. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition. Perform additional transportation maintenance duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Previous professional diesel mechanic experience with progressively increasing responsibility. Strong knowledge of diesel vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair. Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems efficiently. Ability to use standard automotive and diesel diagnostic tools and equipment. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple repair assignments. Strong attention to safety, documentation, and preventive maintenance requirements. Community college, vocational school, trade school, or technical training in automotive or diesel mechanics is preferred. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and working around heavy vehicles and equipment. Required License Candidates must possess a valid Arizona Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger (P) Endorsement. Applicants who do not currently meet this requirement may not be considered for the position. Preferred Qualifications Forklift Operator Certification. Previous experience maintaining school buses, fleet vehicles, or other transportation equipment. Experience working in a school district, municipal fleet, transportation department, or similar environment.
