We are currently searching for a skilled R D Technician to join our fast-paced Diesel Products development team. This position assists with the development of aftermarket automotive performance products and test fit prototype components, turbochargers, manifolds, intercoolers and charge air pipes. The successful candidate will be a mechanic with demonstrated diesel experience and hands-on knowledge, along with computer skills for data documentation. If this is you, we'd love to hear from you. Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned): Works with product development team on assigned projects in support of diesel product development for various vehicle platforms. Works hands-on in the shop to install, test and validate new automotive products. Assembles, fits and modifies parts for evaluation. Conducts testing on prototype application installs. Enters relevant project data into database and completes project documentation as required. Visits vendors / suppliers to deliver / pickup vehicles, or parts, may run errands for shop supplies or customer requirements as needed.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Automotive mechanical repair and parts install on various makes/models of cars and light duty trucks, required. Intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience working on diesel vehicles. Demonstrated experience with shop math, shop tools, test equipment and data logging. Familiarity with 3D printers, a plus, but not required. Computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to lift and/or move 50 lbs.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma required AA Degree in automotive technology, or minimum of two (2) years relevant combination of education and experience. Hands-on automotive experience - working with diesel engines, and components. Basic machining, welding and/or fabrication skills, a plus. General Mechanic certification a plus.
