In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment and vehicles in the field. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of machinery used across various industries, including construction, agriculture, and transportation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse equipment in a fast-paced environment, delivering top-notch service to keep operations running smoothly. This position is working closely with the higher ups daily. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and wheel alignments to ensure equipment longevity. Fabricate and modify parts or components using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and farm machinery to troubleshoot issues or perform repairs on-site. Utilize automotive diagnostics tools and electrical experience to identify faults in complex systems; interpret schematics for precise repairs. Perform assembly and disassembly of machinery parts during repair or maintenance procedures while adhering to safety standards. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs performed for accountability and future reference. Requirements Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance; dealership experience is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive repair principles including transmissions, HVAC systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and suspension components. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other fabrication tools safely and effectively. Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately for troubleshooting electrical or mechanical issues. Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm equipment is essential. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various outdoor conditions; willingness to work flexible hours as needed. Willing to respond and go out on service calls after hours. Knowledge in air brake systems or commercial vehicle maintenance are a plus; valid driver's license is required.
