Diesel Mechanic:
Experienced 5+ years' experience Working in fleet maintenance facility, maintaining commercial trucks, trailers and equipment for heavy duty repair facility. Experience with a variety of engines and transmissions. Must have your own tools. Computer literate. A valid drivers license with reliable transportation. Ability to Drive a Manual Transmission Vehicle Welding experience preferred but not required. AC experience & certificate preferred but not required. Opacity testing certificate a plus but not required. Read and write English.

San Diego Heavy Truck & Equipment Repair, Inc is looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Lakeside, CA! This is your opportunity to work on a wide variety of heavy trucks and equipment in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where your expertise truly makes an impact.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered heavy trucks and equipment Perform preventive maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, and electrical system issues Conduct inspections and ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards Utilize diagnostic software and tools to identify mechanical and electronic faults Complete accurate repair orders and document all maintenance and service work Collaborate with team members to efficiently manage workload and turnaround times
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician Strong knowledge of diesel engines, drivetrain systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams Experience with diagnostic tools and software (e.g., Cummins Insite, Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link) Valid driver's license required; CDL a plus Must supply own hand tools Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently
