Location:
Long Beach, California Compensation:
Up to $50 per hour
Travel:
Approximately 30% I'm working with a small, established marine service company based in Long Beach, California. The business has around 20 employees, including a team of 12-13 technicians and engineers, and provides mobile servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel engines on boats and other marine vessels. They're looking for a Marine Diesel Service Technician to join the team. They're open to junior technicians with the right mechanical background, although the ideal candidate will already have field service experience within the marine or maritime industry. Responsibilities Travel to customer vessels to diagnose, service, maintain, and repair marine diesel engines. Work across both 2-stroke and 4-stroke diesel engines . Troubleshoot mechanical and engine-related faults in the field. Carry out preventative maintenance, repairs, and servicing. Work independently while travelling to customer locations and alongside the wider technical team when required. Support customers across a variety of marine diesel engine platforms and manufacturers. Ideal Background Previous experience as a Marine Technician, Diesel Technician, Field Service Technician, or similar. Marine or maritime industry experience is strongly preferred. Experience servicing and repairing a broad range of diesel engines. Exposure to manufacturers such as Rolls-Royce, Caterpillar, Cummins , or similar marine engine platforms would be highly beneficial. Comfortable travelling and working directly at customer sites and onboard vessels. Junior candidates with relevant mechanical or diesel engine experience will also be considered. Travel & Relocation Approximately 30% travel , including local and longer-distance assignments. Travel can include locations across the West Coast, such as the Seattle area. Opportunities for international travel are also available, although the ability to travel internationally is not a requirement. Compensation Up to $50 per hour , depending on experience.
