Full-Time Job Overview We are looking for an experienced and dependable Fleet Diesel Technician to maintain and repair a commercial fleet of approximately 21 trucks . This position is ideal for a skilled diesel technician who is comfortable working independently, diagnosing problems accurately, performing preventive maintenance, and using modern computer diagnostic equipment and software. We are not looking for an entry-level technician. We need someone who understands diesel trucks, knows how to properly troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems, and can help keep an entire fleet operating safely and reliably. The right technician should be able to identify problems before they become major breakdowns, properly diagnose fault codes instead of simply replacing parts, and maintain organized records of repairs and maintenance. Responsibilities Maintain and repair approximately 21 commercial trucks Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections Diagnose engine, electrical, emissions, brake, air, suspension, steering, cooling, and drivetrain problems Diagnose check-engine lights, warning lights, derates, and fault codes Use laptop-based diagnostic programs, scan tools, and electronic service information Troubleshoot electrical problems using wiring diagrams and diagnostic equipment Diagnose and repair DPF, DEF, SCR, EGR, and other emissions/aftertreatment systems Perform brake inspections, adjustments, and repairs Diagnose starting, charging, battery, wiring, sensor, and communication issues Perform oil changes, filter replacements, fluid services, and other routine maintenance Inspect trucks and identify upcoming repair or maintenance needs Help prevent unnecessary breakdowns and vehicle downtime Maintain accurate service and repair records Keep track of preventive maintenance needs for the fleet Communicate clearly regarding needed repairs, parts, and truck condition Prioritize repairs based on safety and operational needs Work independently without requiring constant supervision Maintain a clean and professional work environment Diagnostic & Computer Skills Strong computer diagnostic skills are important for this position. Candidates should be comfortable using laptops, professional scan tools, diagnostic software, wiring diagrams, service information, and electronic troubleshooting procedures. Experience with programs such as the following is strongly preferred: JPRO Cummins INSITE Detroit DiagnosticLink Allison DOC Bendix ACom International/Navistar diagnostic software PACCAR diagnostic software Volvo/Mack diagnostic software Other OEM or professional heavy-duty truck diagnostic platforms You do not need experience with every program listed, but you should have strong experience using electronic diagnostic equipment and be comfortable learning additional systems. Qualifications Previous professional heavy-duty diesel technician experience Strong diesel engine diagnostic and troubleshooting ability Strong electrical diagnostic skills Experience servicing commercial trucks Ability to properly use computers, laptops, scan tools, and diagnostic software Knowledge of diesel emissions and aftertreatment systems Knowledge of commercial truck braking and air systems Ability to perform preventive maintenance and identify future repair needs Ability to work independently and manage priorities Dependable and punctual Strong attention to detail Good communication skills Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of heavy-duty diesel repair experience Previous experience maintaining a commercial fleet Experience working with multiple diesel engine manufacturers Experience with DOT inspections and commercial vehicle safety requirements CDL Class A or Class B is a plus ASE or manufacturer certifications are a plus Experience managing preventive maintenance schedules is a plus What We're Looking For We are looking for a technician who can do more than simply replace parts.

Compensation Starting Pay:
$1,200 per week A technician who demonstrates strong performance, reliability, diagnostic ability, productivity, and the ability to properly maintain the fleet may earn up to $1,400 per week .
