Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with automotive diagnostics, heavy equipment operation, and mechanical repairs, ensuring optimal performance and safety of our fleet and machinery. Prior dealership experience and familiarity with industrial equipment are highly desirable. The Diesel Mechanic will play a vital role in supporting our operations through expert technical skills and a strong commitment to quality service. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other heavy equipment using schematics and specialized tools. Conduct repairs on a wide range of machinery including tractors, trailers. Maintain and repair vehicle systems such as air brakes, suspensions, shocks , oil changes, and wheel alignments. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function. Execute preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs utilizing automotive diagnostics skills. Assist with assembly, disassembly, and replacement of mechanical parts in various industrial equipment. Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed. Skills Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership or heavy equipment background preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in diesel engine repair, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brakes. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems. Skilled in the use of power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools. Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery safely. Experience with automotive diagnostics software and electrical troubleshooting techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail for precise repairs. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions. Strong customer service skills for interactions with clients or internal teams regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
